Engine won't start (sometimes)
im to having the same proplem
on a 2014 e200 and cant finde a solution..
me or the dealer..
and its a daily issue.

-In my case this happens rarely, never in my garage, usually after I driven more than 20 km's and parked, sometimes only 10 minutes.
-I noticed this since the agent replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor due to a recall/bullitin 2009 around, thats what I was told.
-Since then they found no fault with current replacement CPS.
--Since than I had the EIS & Lock replaced,car dead after parked no start, no recognise of key.
-I thought replacing the EIS+Lock would solve this problem too.
-Also the battery replaced in the mean time, not solved this problem.
--It still happens rarely, so I usually completely forget about it, then suddenly....
---Some other problem along these lines I experienced twice so far, once out of a parking lot, start, crank steering full left, engine dies.
------About holding the key longer:
-all my previous vehicles=Started within 3-5 turnes, unless fault somewhere.
-Mazda pickup 300 000Km=Start 3-5 turns mostly quick-Predictable.
-Izuzu diesel=Starts 4-7 turns...Predictable
-W204 V6=The 1st car in my life I owned with unpredictable turns around starting.....??
---------For 6 years under guarantee the dealer could never solve this hickup.
Note:The car gives me less problems so far out og guarantee.
