Oil change interval

I anticipate driving 8K-10K miles per year and plan on changing my oil once per year instead of the 13K interval. I bought my car last month but it was delivered to the dealor in March. Should I perform the first oil change in March or just use my purchase date for the annual oil change? My car had 193 miles on it when purchased so it wasn't driven much. I have always heard that once the oil is used for a few miles, it starts breaking down, accumulating acid and water, etc. Wanted to see what you guys think.

a quarter mile at a time
just change it when it asks for it. It will go off every 13.5K miles OR 1yr, whichever comes first.

The computer is set up for every 13k miles, but it varies on how fast it counts down depending on your driving conditions. If you drive mainly highway miles then it will stick to 13k intervals, but if you do a lot of in town driving the computer adjusts and will drop the mile interval faster.

no it won't, it's a simple 13K or 1yr (whichever is first) interval.

For 2009 cars, it's 10k/1-year
