no display on the audio system

The audio system appear to be functioned correect without any visual display in the dash console.

I try to turn on and off the engine, switch on / off the audio bottom still no visual display

Have I done something wrong or is this a fault with the audio system ?

Press the right arrow (on the steering wheel) 2-3 times until you reach the "Audio" Category.

The display in the cluster still works, BUT not the screen display behind the flip door above the air-con.

I try press the arrow bottom on the steering wheel; which doesn't since to help

Yea, you have to take it to the dealer for a warranty repair unfortunately.

not a common problem, Will be an easy/quick FIX i reckon. Other display menu working? like Navi , DVD , telephone, System? or the COMAND screen is altogether Blank for everything?

Not surprisingly, I had something similar happen at around 2,500 miles. My MM screen just stopped raising itself when I turned the car or audio system on. The screen stayed shut for 4 days while I waited for yet another warranty repair appointment to fix it. The audio system worked, I just didn't have a screen I could see. Nothing, including pressing the open/close button on the screen unit worked to get it to open.

The day before the car was to go back to the dealer, I got in, started it and the screen opened like it was supposed to. It's been fine since. I'm puzzled why there isn't some switch or setting to just make the screen stay in the "up" position all of the time instead of closing when you turn the car off.

BAD quality .....

Quick update after visit the workshop last week. The work shop have to order a new display unit for my car.

They said they did everything they could still can't bring the display back.

Well ...... i am a bit disappoint with the quality of the car now with such a brand new car and things start to falling apart.

Non of my friends Japanese car have those little problems and they are way cheaper then Benz.

Its probably you manually switched the COMAND off before stoping the engine. or you switched it on and off while the car engine was not running. This makes it go in manual mode and then unless and unti you run the car open the screen and then shutdown the car it will not go into auto mode.

Its just a matter of luck. I never had any problems with my car but then again my brother two months old 2008 BMW has been to garage 5 times already for different problems.

This is not a major problem you encountered. You will get a new unit and soon you do not have to worry about anything.

Thanks for the encouragement, the dealer have to wait for one week for the unit to be arrived. Then again, who knows what else could be damaged during the replacement; if you know what i mean.

BAD thing happen

Suppose to be a good day, the dealer fixed the display unit.

BUT there are deep cut marks on the leather seat when pick up the the car, I was so ****

Other than the leather been cutted, looks like the side panel next to the glove box also been open and not put back properly; base on the YOUTUBE video where you don't need to open the side platic panel to take out the display unit

After all these, i guess you better take photo of ur car before take it to the dealer for service.

Now I have to wait till the coming Monday to speak with service manager, i bet they will deny everything.
