Interior room? What do you think of it?
Hey guys.
I'm new to the club and doing some research, cross shopping the E class with the C class.
What do you guys think about the interior room of the C class? I've heard that it's pretty tight in magazines. I will be travelling with 5 people once in a while and transporting bikes or skiis/snowboard in the trunk (do the rear seats even fold?).
How do you think it would be for living with a family and baby?
Also, I've heard a lot of good things about the new C... is the thing really that great when it comes to maintanence? I'm worried about a used 2005 E class reliability so I'm considering a new C class.

The C is a very well built vehicle but a bit tight for larger/taller people. I am 6'1" tall and would have a hard time sitting "behind myself", but could if necessary. For anyone 5'8" or smaller, you should be fine...not limo like but comfortable. As far a three across in the back...hope they are average to small size.
You have to purchase the P2 option to get the fold down seats. I didn't go with the P2 and that may be the only thing I regret with my purchase. The roof is set up to very easily add cargo rack options for your bikes and boards.
Mercedes put in a massive amount of development and testing time on the C Class to help distance itself from a few bad years of quality. From what I have seen, they have done a pretty good job.
Hope this helps.

2011 BMW 335xi titanium silver.
If you are planning ski trips with a full load of passengers, the C might be too tight. The interior is about the same as my previous B6 Audi. I think the new A4 has slightly more legroom in the rear, but you might consider a wider car to fit 3 in the back.
As for the driver (5'9") and front passenger, very comfortable.

Im just playin, anyway someone else is that tall in your familly that may drive, so you will have to sit in the back? This is a great car by all means. But ya space for 3 in the back is good for short trips. I wouldnt want to be one of three for long. Have you considered waiting a bit for the GLK? Sounds like this truck will be better suited for you. Good luck.

I have given some thought to the GLK but want to stay away from first generation cars in case some bugs are being worked out. I know it has the underpinnings of a C but I'm still a bit worried.
Thank you for the notes on build quality and interior room. Thought it's a fine ride, I think I need to look towards something bigger, like the E-class.
