Just passing on some news I read. This will be the E class coupe, the CLK name will be dropped. The CL name will be dropped as well in favor of S class coupe and there will be a true C class coupe coming to market as well. I can understand the dropping of the CLK name, it never went over well seeing how it was a C class in fancy clothes and a hefty price tag. Renaming it E class coupe should help its image. Dropping the CL name could make some owners angry, although it was an S class coupe to begin with, but it looked like the S class sedan and now it looks more like a car of its own from the outside (inside is all S class spec). A true C class coupe would be a welcome edition to the line, the sorry excuse for the European C class coupe would never fly in the States.

Yes, better chance with a lottery ticket than waiting for Wall St. to recover.

Saw the Test-Car in Person... looks amazing...
can't wait to see it without the black stickers

Got to see this vehicle today at the dealership and remembered this posting from a while back... This one was silver over black leather. What a phenomenally beautiful (yet masculine) vehicle! From every angle (including from the interior) I was very impressed. Please note that the production vehicle is a little more rounded than the one pictured here.

Two unfortunate things:

1. It was a loaded-up E350, which had a sticker of 71k euro. (whoa...)

2. My girlfriend liked it more than my loaded-up C300. She was egged on by the three women gushing over it. Now, THAT's an ego buster!

Should be designed and priced as a C-class coupe instead to compete against the A5 and 3 series coupe
