New W204 Mirrors

Just ordered the new 204 mirrors. should arrived in about 2 weeks time. will post update once it's here. I wonder if the wiring and everything else is a straight plug and play or will need some alteration.

It is plug and play. have already spoken to the dealer about them > he told me cost around 500 euros and will be done in 15 - 30 mins. With labour charge as well.

hey guys, you can actually find this "new" w204 mirrors inside your owner's manual....on P.22 (english version)

I think the "old" one picks up with headlights more...but of coz the new one is not bad!

Must be a different manual...I have to admit the new style is growing on me a bit but I will keep my "Big Ol Dumbo Ears" as mine are pretty quiet and I love having almost no blind spot.

I think the size is about the same.
I just like the way the signal lights on the new one. looks like fibre optics or some sorts instead of LED.

Here in the Netherlands the new ones allready have the new mirrors... I have seen them in real life by my dealer. The size is almost the same as the old ones... little smaller but no reason for me to change them...

Good god man, what is wrong you? How can you say such a thing as "no reason for me to change them" how will we keep this economy turning, if for the spurious of reasons we dont buy things?

I've had at least 5 new sets of alloys, they kept getting so dirty!

i have to say i dont really like them.

but the old ones arent that great either.

either way...i dont see the need to change them. even if it does coming with the fold away feature, it would probaly be too hard to add that to the US spec cars that dont have that option.

i would buy them if they are more areodynamic, my 'old' style ones make noise on the freeway.

Also, do the 'new' ones have the tilt down when in reverse feature?

tilt down - I dont think this is a feature of the mirrors themselves. Someone above hinted as such, but i cant see how that would work. I have the option where the passenger mirror tilts down when reversing, but i believe this is because the car has the electric seat memory pack.

motorway - The noise on the motorway is one of main reasons i would like to change the mirrors!

I think the NEW style makes the same noise as the old ones, because they LOOK smaller but they are about the same size.

They both sucks on a nice car as a W204, but they have to be that big for some European regulation...
