Cabin Filter

I have a C230 (Canadian) and have noticed no cabin filter where my old C class used to have.....how about the C300 or C350 is there a filter above the battery in the black "snot box" is what I call it.
Was thinking about putting something in there to use as a filter

It's located above the passenger's ankles, just like a W202. To get to it, the underdash panel must be removed which requires a Torx bit, #10 I think. But to get the panel out I had to remove the side panel in the footwell, pulling backwards and slightly upward. And to get that out, I had to remove the door sill (just yank upward) so as to pull the door welting off in the area which is easy once you get it started.
To recap:
Remove:
1.Door sill
2.Door welting.
3.Side panel.
4.Under dash panel (3 Torx screws).
