The dealer quoted me $177 + tax just for the fog light, no labor. Anyway to get it cheaper?

With labor and tax you should be around $300... I should know cause I paid for installation since it was too cold in Chicago to replace it myself.

i purchased the headlights as well, but if you ask me, i think its a little over kill since its already made out of high strength plastic - just save the money...
pictures wont really help since i just bought the transparent film
there are two types of film you can get, one thicker than the other... fwiw, i bought the thinner one (easier to install) and you can tell a noticeable difference if you tap the glass, before and after install

Plastic headlamps will get pitted over time, reducing the quality of light that is thrown out front. Using a head-light cover/bra/laminix product will preserve the plastic, and you can easily swap out the cover.

You obviously don't keep your cars very long. On the car I'm thinking of, the plastic/lexan headlamp covers were about 9 years old. I replaced the bulbs, but the light quality was still bad. Close inspection showed the plastic covers to be badly pitted.
Why? Well, we don't salt our roads, we sand them. All that sand gets sprayed up onto our cars. The W204 is my second car with the clear bra, and all my previous cars had dulled headlights and pitted hoods before I traded them.
And, I keep my cars for anywhere from 9 to 17 years, so yeah, pitting happens!

If one does a lot of 50mph+ driving the road grit will damage the plastic lens over a few years - like a weak sand blaster. If in a snow region the rocks will trash them in no time.
I hardly drive on the freeway and when I do it's in the summer only (I'm leisure driver) so never did the head lights.

Well, it finally happened to me. Broken foglight! Rock went through the driver side foglight. Local MB dealer in Seattle quoted $150 + tax for the replacement part. Has anyone ordered the replacement foglights from this ebay seller?

Pretty decent price at only $80 for a pair. They say the foglights are made by HELLA. Just curious of the quality and fitment. Thanks!

Good question. I also saw this ebay package and decided to stay away bacuase they seem generic. However, if someone who has seen the OEM light can compare it to the one on ebay and confirm that they are the same it would be worth it.

The yellow lamin-x film looks really good..I have a quick question, does the film alter the fog light color or increase/decrease lumens in any shape form??
Did you guys replace stock fog light bulb w/ something different after apply the lamin-x film?

I looked at the Lamin X website, and it gives different mil thicknesses you can buy. I would like to go as thin as possible, but don't want to waste my time putting something on that won't protect the lense... What thinkness would be recommended? Any different for the headlights?

I got the headlight & foglight kit from Lamin-X and I am very happy with it.
Heating the film with a hair dryer doesn't work that well as the material is thin and cools down fairly quickly. I just keep the headlights on and the heat from the lights is enough to keep the film soft and pliable.
Be sure to keep the surface wet and apply the film slowly so that you could press the air bubbles as you go along (it's easier to do it at this point rather than later). The instructions says not to put too much water on the lens, which I took very literally which made squeeging out the air bubbles very difficult.
The film will look like crap when you first install it, but the haze and bubbles will disappear over time as the moisture and adhesive will disappate through the film. Parking your car in sunlight will speed up this process.
I went with a very light tint for the headlights which made it look like the C63 headlights. I went with yellow for the fogs, but I'm sure about the look of them. I will replace it with clear soon -- I already have rallye yellow bulbs for the fogs for poor weather conditions.
