How to replace boot lid handle to chrome one?
I just purchased a replacement boot (trunk) lid handle in chrome to replace the existing black one. I am wondering how can I remove the existing black trim? I have taken out the retaining screws but there appears to be something else holding the trim in place beneath the open switch that I can't see. I don't want to apply too much pressure in case I break anything. Just wondering if anyone has done this already? The part is highlighted as item 200 on the attached PDF...
Many thanks

yeah, where did the black come from? are you by any chance referring to the part UnDeR the boot strip, around the boot release button?

Sorry guys. I should have explained. In Europe, the chrome trunk handle comes as black on most models. It's only chrome on the Avantgarde models or as an optional extra....so, it's that bit that i wanted to replace.

There's a couple of screws on the other side of the trim (accessible once you remove the trunk lining to access the backside):

Once those are removed then the trim is held in place only by the retaining clips. You'll need some pressure to yank it out so be careful not to scratch the paint from the edges when it comes out.

I bought it for about 100 bucks. I think it finishes off the trunk well and is worth the cost and bit of work to replace it. I'll let you know how I get on....
