C Class Trade Dealo?
I currently decided on trading my 2008 C300 4MATIC for a 2008 Ml 320 CDI.
Situation:
-I payed $52 000 for my car which has naviagation, keyless go, and metallic paint
-The 2008 ML320 CDI has very option except for the sport package and Rear entertainment system that I know
-The total discount on the Ml320 is $10 000 of
Trade:
-They offered my $36 000 for my car and said they would sell it for about $42 000 etc
-But with the $36 000 he offered another $10 000 of on the car meaning a total savings on $20 000
BUT
I went to my other dealership they said I don't believe that no way! $20 000 off. He showed me the emails he gets showing the the ML discount is $10 000 and its the same for every dealer. If its not I could retire and sue them. He said I cannot give the price the markup is not the much etc. He maybe because you are there old customer and bought your C from them

As a professional salesman and ex-car sales person. I cannot understand for the life of me why consumers get a crazy good deal from one place but then drive all over the place and continue to want to do business with places that won't come close? In some cases some businesses in today's global economy might be worse off than the other guy. "Your preferred" dealer might be selling Mercedes like hotcakes and doesn't need to discount or as deeply. Why not give the business to the guy who's begging for your business and giving you the good deal.
I've told customers before when I was a car saleman "If you can get a deal like that why aren't you over there signing papers and enjoying your new car"
