Question on Spare Wheel
My C350 came with the 18" AMG 5-twin-spoke straight from the factory in Germany. However, the spare wheel is the 17" Avantgarde design. Any of you got the 18" AMG as spare?

I'm not sure actually who was lucky. I would not want to carry the extra weight from a full sized wheel in the trunk if there was an option for a lighter wheel. You can hardly make use of the tyre anyway (too old at next change of tyres), perhaps the spare wheel but would it be the correct one (rear/front) if you damage one in use.
Euro cars mostly go even further and don't have a steel spare but the tyre fit kit.

I would not put up with anything but a full size spare wheel. The small amount extra weight is a small price to pay for the inconvenience of having a tyre failure on a trip especially away from city. My spare is alloy , exactly the same as the 4 others. I intend using the spare as a replacement tyre in a couple of years. I reckon a tyres life span is about 6 years.
