Looking for some input/advice...
Hi everyone,
This is my first post but I've been reading the mbworld forums for quite a while. I've been car shopping recently and was comparing the 328i, IS350, A4 2.0L, and the C350. After many test drives and a lot of research, I've decided on the 09 C350; what a wonderful car! Now that it's time to sign some papers and take delivery I was wondering if I could get some input on what the dealerships are offering me.
The C350 I'm looking at has the P2 Package, Multimedia Package, 18" AMG Rims, Panorama Roof and the iPod Integration kit, pretty much everything minus leather. I am predisposed to Steel Gray and Palladium Silver but I have to admit that the car (due to the lines) looks very sharp in White and Obsidian as well. This brings me to my current options.
Dealer #1 has offered me a Palladium Silver C350 for $48,533.93 out the door, and that's after tax, title, fees and delivery of the vehicle (it's not currently in stock, they need to get it on a flatbed to transfer dealerships).
Dealer #2 has offered me a Steel Gray C350 for $48,805.00 out the door. The weird thing about this car is that the Steel Gray comes with a $700 "paint upgrade". The sales person said this was a upgraded metallic finish due to the fact the car is in the midwest. This is the first I've heard of an "upgraded finish". This also includes a delivery fee.
Dealer #2 has also offered me a Obsidian Black C350 for $47,505.00 out the door. This is the price of the Steel Gray minus Paint and Relocation fees. This takes into account a "winter sales event" discount of 2,251.00.
I have to admit that I like both the Palladium and Steel Gray more than the Obsidian but the price is obviously more enticing on the latter. Am I getting some decent quotes? Has anyone ever heard of the steal gray premium price? Also, on a side note, the dealers are offering to fill the wheels with nitrogen, I'm a newb, but what are the benefits and do they justify the $220 fee?
Well, I hope I wasn't long winded, but I figured I would come to the source for this information. Thanks in advance for your time.

those prices seem really high to me. with the economy and auto industry being slow right now, they should give you a big discount.
OR you can try to get a 2008.
I have heard people getting a fully loaded C350 for around 40,000.
I got my standard C350 for $38,000 and I regret not waited for a few more months.

I ended up sealing the deal on an Arctic/White 09 C350 w/ P2, Multimedia, 18" AMG, Panorama Sunroof and the iPod Integration Kit for $44,140 and 2 years of free maintenance. All in all, I'm happy and can't wait to get into the vehicle.

why too high on those prices, call Fred Fisher at Palm Beach Mercedes, tell him you are a friend of JohnPaul, I've been doing biz with him for years. They are cutting great deals.

Just for reference, I got a 2009 C350 (Palladium Silver, P2, MM, iPod Kit) a couple weeks ago for $40,xxx (sorry, I forgot the exact number, but I can look it up if needed.)
I am happy about the price, but I am sure I could've done better if I insisted. It is a buyer's market, and the sales folks are very competitive.
With best regards,
