Preparing chrome "plastic" badges and Grill pieces for Paint
I want to paint all the chrome badges and the chrome on the grill black. I know that if I paint directly to the chrome it will eventually chip/flake off. I read in a thread recently that using rubbing alcohol on the chrome will remove it, I can't find that thread for sh*t. I want to know if this is true and or is there a better/easier way to do this properly.... help a brother out...

rubbing alcohol will not remove the chrome finish, it will clean it though.
Sanding and primer is best prep you could do prior to painting. The badges are not very big, so it should be a small project.
You could try a stronger solvent such as acetate or toulene to remove and dull the chrome finish.
