if you need a tow truck, new battery, or misc. they will charge you.
battery is free if the car is under warranty btw.
also, if your car is one of the AMGs that doesn't come with the spare they can't help you. if your car doesn't have the necessary bolts for the spare they can't help you either.
I've also heard "we can't send the tow truck because it's sunday" after I had a blown out on my C32 before as well as "we can't send the tow truck because it's not really an emergency" ---AFTER my sister fell asleep at the wheel of her CLK, jumped a curb, bent the left front suspension arm, hit a newly planted tree, dented the hood and smashed the windshield. We ended limping the car home about 2 miles up hill and called the tow truck the next day on our own.

I don't know why a flat has to be changed after midnight but if some poor tech has to come out to put the spare on at that hour, I certainly would tip him generously.

Advise to everyone save the number on your cells.
I would not feel bad calling the 800 number at the middle of the night; the technicians are getting special pay for each call, that’s how they make their living.
