2008 C300 Sport
Service A Suggestions
I am bringing my 2008 C300 in for 10k Service A. There seems to be common items most people are mentioning, either because it is a problem or just to have done preventively. The list I made is:

1. Transmission software update/reflash
2. Engine software update/reflash
3. Door lock redesigned pin replacement
4. A/C smell
5. Tire pressure monitor reset

I will ask the service advisor to address all the above items. Is there anything else to ask for at the 10k service?

If you have MM the command update so you get audio fade.

I have MM and self installed Midcity Engineering's VIM module. Will asking for the command update reveal the VIM unit and void any warranty?

What is audio fade?

Audio fade is when the music fades when the navi voice gives directions instead of it talking over the music. I can't tell you about the VIM.

2019 GLA 250 - I am in purgatory right now...
I didn't let them do any software updates on my car. So far I am in love with everything and would hate for a change to mess it up.

Dose anyone know what the Transmission update does?

You are talking about the Telematics Update (the official MB term) which is covered by warranty. Every electronic component in the car is upgraded to the latest software version and this takes about 1.5 hours.

I had this done recently just because my backup camera (with VIM) would not display and the update fixed it.

The dealer's service manager offered me the upgrade and was unconcerned about the camera and VIM.

Don't forget the oil change.

They basically beefed up the existing design which prevents the plastic pin from splitting when pressed onto the lock cable.
