Problem with Air recirculation Button..needs ur info.
Everytime i override the air recirculation button during start-up with (Auto mode off).. It keeps on turning back to Outside air Mode every 5 minutes while im driving. Im getting MAD/ANNOYED already i have to push the button every 5 mins to keep it on air recirculation mode..Is it normal for you guys? or have dealership check this out...Thanks.

Yup! but i really can not appreciate that MBs clever feature...i used to drive with my other car ( honda pilot) for straigth 8 hrs. with air reirculation mode on at all times and have no problem with my breathing. i just dont want to smell that pungent odor from air outside..esp. smoke exhaust , or when you pass a cow or poultry farming by the road..i might drop by the dealership and ask if this feature can be disabled..even on auto mode off..

By the way, im driving here with a temperature above 41 degrees F.. Still the recirculation mode is deactivated after 5 mins. without using Auto climate mode feature..
( i did check the manual, this feature is not normal)

Air -Recirc Mode Switches Off Automatically after 5 minutes if :-
1. Ourside temps below 7'C
2. Cooling with air dehumidification is deactivated.(ie A/C off)
After 30 minutes
1.If outside temp above approx 5'C.
Your driving without fresh air for a long period of time is not clever. You are putting other road users at risk by a lack of oxygen which can make you drowsy.
There is also a possibility of Carbon Monoxide build up in the cabin from a small exhaust leak or gases from the engine. It is odourless & you will not be able to detect its affects .It just puts you to sleep.
All motoring authorities advise to have copious amounts of fresh are in a car especially when driving long distances to avoid drowsiness & killing other road users.
Anyway ,a good breath of cow manure odour cleans out the nasal passages & keeps you alert.

Thanks Carsy, Thanks for the info though.. I didnt know the rationale behind that MB feature, that u need some fresh air while on long distance driving.. So, More Oxygen and some odor inside keeps you alert and kicking !!!

imagine that someone actually got paid to design, implement and test this over controling feature without an easy way to override it. to me, its a design failure from blind ambition. before you flame me, even with a brand new cabin filter you can still smell a dirty bus exhaust in the city. nice feature in theory, but not in the polluted city. maybe its my hint to move to another city LOL.

Mercedes is not my mother
Overly protective approach from MB. You would have to recreate A LOT of air for the CO2 to be a problem. Sounds more like "go outside and get some fresh air young man" to me...

This feature is very paternalistic. The only way to adjust the timing or turn it off is to learn how to crack the code. Ridiculous. I have been extremely disappointed with features of my c200 since I got it. Apple car play and android auto are far more user friendly in my old mitsubishi and in my wife's KIA. The Merc fails to read out messages repeatedly and struggles to capture responses properly. This AC feature is incredibly annoying. I don't need to be told to get fresh air. Driving in traffic for hours and having to repeatedly toggle the setting on its incredibly annoying. I'll make sure my next car gives me more control. I'm an adult and can make my own choices thanks.

Good pick up. Mine is a w205. So I'll edit and post to the correct forum. Cheers.
