New C250 CDI BlueEfficiency in the US?

Hello,

While reading my Nov 2008 issue of Mercedes Enthusiast (http://www.mercedesenthusiast.co.uk), I found an article about the new S400 BlueHybrid and the new C250 CDI BlueEfficiency Prime Edition. I've seen the press release on numerous websites with a lot of pretty good photos.

However, I stumbled upon this tidbit in the article:

"Also at the Paris show, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new W204 C250 CDI BlueEfficiency Prime Edition. Set to launch in the US later this year, this carries the new OM651 four-cylinder engine (Mercedes Enthusiast June and August 2008). The 2,143cc C250 CDI produces 201bhp and 369lb ft torque, drinking diesel at a rate of 54.3mpg (NEDC combined) and emitting 138g/km of CO2, thus complying with the 2009 EU5 emissions standards - as well as potentially meeting the tougher EU6 legislation of 2014.

The C250 CDI uses a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and fuel consumption is improved by aerodynamic tweaks to the wing mirrors and a smoother underbody profile.

Production of the Avantgarde trim (Sport in the UK) based Prime Edition is currently limited to 5,000 units. The C250 CDI is due in the UK next year.
Now, this might be a typo (this is a UK mag after all) but the later reference that they're getting this model "next year" is puzzling me. This was directly quoted on Page 7 of that issue.

What do you guys think? I would LOVE having a 4-cyl diesel W204 over here...
