steering popping...fixed...bulletin

My car had the steering popping issue when backing up....it's fixed now!!!

I don't know if this is old news....but my paperwork says "Front strut bushings popping as per "P-B-33.15/20B". The torque arm bushings were replaced, and the noise is gone.

Just an FYI.

Glad to have the bulletin number. I had both sides done during my complimentary service and felt the problem in both loaners I have driven...I knew the TSB was coming.

Yeah, I was glad to see there was actually a bulletin for it. Otherwise my dealer probably wouldn't have done anything.

When do you experience the popping? when backing up and turning the steering wheel? I've noticed that when I first start my car in the morning and when i'm backing from my garage, the moment when i hit the bump from the driveway to the road, i feel and hear a bump come from either my steering or something in the suspension. did you experience the same thing? thanks!

so glad

I thought I was going a bit crazy. But same issue backing out of garage while turning the wheel sharp left. pop sound and I can feel it.

My C32 did this and they had to replace the bushings. What is up with the bushings on these cars ? My wife laughs at me. Her 08 Honda as no issues.
She keeps wondering why I keep buying German cars that have all these little problems.

stories of our lives.... I'm the only german car owner among my friends, most of them drive japanese. they stopped making fun of me when i kept singing the same tune... "driver's car, german engineering... " its all bs and marketing to them.

It's true that even the finest Japanese cars just don't match the feel of the German makes. It's the price you pay I guess. This is my first German car and I can say my one trip to the dealer has been more than compensated for by the enjoyment of driving the car.
