rough ride?
What do you guys think of the comfort level of the new C?
I've had my C350 for 7 months and 9000 miles now. I think the overall comfort level is not the greatest (compared with Japenese cars that is), it feels very rough while driving especially if the road is not in the greatest shape. I mean, I live in CA, the freeway is moderate imo and it still feels bumpy when driving and on some roads tire makes very loud noises.
Is this what everyone feels like? Or is there something wrong with my car.
Btw, does it feel like 75% of the new C you see on the road are white color?

German cars will always have a feel of the road through the wheel and suspention. BMW's will give you more still. So yes Japanies cars might be smoother but less responsive IMO. Keep in mind when you ask people for advice on how a car behaves. everyone has a different idea of what comfort or proformance might be.
Oh and ya white is the most popular color this year!

I don't think the new C handles bumps as well as the W203 sport sedans. I was surprised that my '08 is noisier and not as quiet, solid or refined feeling over bumpy roads as the W203 was. Maybe this is just because I have spent more time in my car, versus having '06 and '07 C230 sports as loaner cars, but who knows.
But to answer your question, it is normal. Your C350 has the stiffer sport suspension.

I'd have to compare them back to back now that I have my 204...I just remember the W203 loaners being very quiet, and bumps didn't "boom" or "crash" as much as they do in my '08. This could be because the suspension is stiffer in the 204 though.

I agree, I don't think its a lack of refinement though...its just the stiffer suspension. My Cooper S suspension would have had you in tears if you think the W204 is stiff. hahaha

I had the same worry as you.
I felt the ride was too hard and bouncy on rough roads, especially at low speeds. But I fixed it by ensuring the tyres were inflated to the correct pressure.
I bought an accurate tyre pressure guage and checked the tyres and found they had too much pressure. In the morning, before driving the car, while the tyres were still cold, I set the front tyres to 29PSI and the back at 32PSI, as recommended for the 17inch tyres, and now find the ride much improved. Give it a try.

For the size of the car, I really haven't ever driven a car with such a good ride.
In fact, much larger cars I rent, usually have a significantly worst ride.
