Is it possible to swap out the stock (non-mm) headunit in the c300? I really would prefer to install a nice touchscreen nav (with real time traffic flow info, living in the SF bay area its the one thing I really like about my acura I'm getting rid of) with better sound and real pre-outs for a sub.
I know its problematic in some luxury cars like BMW as a number of other car functions are routed through the headunit.
I've searched and read through this and a couple other forums but I havent been able to find the answer

I know its going to be suggested, but I don't want to go with a portable gps unit as I have yet to see one mounted that looked ok to me.

How could you switch it out? It's part of the dash, there is no removeable headunit.
You can get a nav with real time traffic installed at the dealer though. It's like $1800 and uses the 5" screen that's already there.

If you want nav and you haven't bought your C300 yet I'd highly recommend getting the MM package. It's pretty sweet, and any customization to get an aftermarket screen put in is going to cost just as much and will not look as good.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I got a dealer quote of $2,500.00 installed for the UMI. That's too just close to what the MM package costs.
While I ma not crazy about the pop-up screen, I am thinking I should have ordered the MM package from the begining.
