Squeaky Trunk Hinges When Cold?

I have noticed on my car that the trunk hinges squeak horribly when the temp drops below about 40 F. I seems like it is coming from all the plastic cladding around the goose necks but I am not sure. Has anyone had this problem, and have you had it fixed?
Just kinda annoying when your nice new car sounds like a 10 year old beater when you have to put something in the trunk...

I just notice the same thing this past weekend when it was really cold in VA. I was annoyed also. Like you said, it only happens when it is really cold.

Same problem here. If temprature drops below 2 or something the trunk sqeaks when you open it. Let me know if anyone of you guys fix this problem. I think I will have to visit dealer.

Have been to the dealer couple of months ago, the only thing they did was a little spray (like WD40).

It helps for a time and than it come back, so i spray it myself....

I should be a member of this discussion. I am experiencing squeaky sound currently, I guess, from the spring on the right side of the trunk good.

Just WD40 is the best solution? If so, I won't visit the dealer.

p.s. I am still missing the trunk door of VW Passat, which is my previous car. It opens softly and slowly and calmly. :-)

Ha...funny this is happening to all of us. I noticed it a week or so ago and debated taking it to the dealer. It's not doing it anymore.

I will have to give the WD-40 a shot when it gets cold enough again. I know what you mean about how Audi/VW make their trunk lids...my girlfriends new A4 seems like it slowly "powers" up...very nice...
