Maintenance Schedule

The MB maintenance book is a pain to try to piece together! Does anyone have a simple concise list of all the services needed? Not looking for the service A or B stuff but the actual services(filters, plugs, fluids, etc).
If not, may be my project for the weekend...

Good grief, that was a pain. I have the Excel I can send anyone if they want it, or if I need to make corrections.

Looking good.

Do you have any schedule for replacing brakes and rotors? Even a heuristic, since they're based on usage.

Thanks for the great work!

Brake wear depends alot on how you drive - do alot of highway driving, the wear is much less.

This car has wear sensors, right? Just rely on those, unless you feel something or hear something that would warrant brake inspection.

I couldn't really take a guess on the brakes. I am hoping mine last for a long time as I am able to use the manual trans to my advantage on that one.

Do you really want to wait for the sound of your rotors being gouged out before inspecting the brake pad thickness. I think it is clever to monitor the brake pad thickness in case the wear sensors are U.S. They live in a very hostile enviroment & are prone to failure.

My W203 needs to flush coolant every 3 years. No need for W204?

Based on my W203 '01 C320, I'm expecting more than 40K miles before pad replacement. And, I make no particular effort to conserve the brakes.

Brake pads just aren't that costly. And usually, brake discs get changed every other pad change.

So, using our 13k service interval, every 3rd service it's new pads, and every 6th service we get rotors. Provided we don't drive like a kid with a new hot rod all lthe time.

Thanks.

I'm thinking a list of heuristics like this is a good thing. For example, how often should we flush out/replace the brake fluid? My Jeep wants it every 24 months. I let it go too long and that was an expensive repair. What's our metric here?

Heuristics? Metrics?

All this service interval info is in your manual. Why not just go there?

The manual is spread between 5 or 6 pages with a complicated/convoluted layout, I just wanted to put a concise list together for the W204. I have used a spreadsheet to track everything on my last couple cars and it works pretty well. Just wanted to share in case anyone shared my sentiments.

All C classes made from 2005 on have the new coolant system w/ special gel pack in the reservoir. This means the factory coolant lasts for damn near the life of the car.
