2002 C230 Coupe
New car this summer

Ok guys, I plan to buy a new car this summer. I currently drive a 2002 C230K coupe. For my next car, I have 3 things that I want for sure

1. Has to be Stick
2. Need to have at least as much power as my C230 in terms of speed not necessarily torque
3. preferably decent on gas

So currently I'm looking at the following cars

C300 2009
Perfect choice because I can get it in manual, more then 200 hsp so that its faster then my C230 and RWD and it will be a luxury car im used to seeing as my bro has a C230 08 version (only in canada)
the problem with this car of course is that its new. So its expensive and the most expensive one that I'm looking at. If I was to get this, I wouldn't be able to buy it, I'd have to finance it.

Nissan 350z
My friend recently got this car and didn't know how to drive a stick, so I taught him with it and drove it for about a month and got really attached to the car. Its more then enough power with both hsp and torque and RWD and more then likely get one in stick. My friend was able to find it for 13000 but his was from the states, and we recently found out that it will need a new tranny eventually.
Looking at this one used a 2004 would come around to at least 20000 in Canada so its in my range to buy, however its probably at least 25000 to find one with lower mileage where if a 20000 would be about at least maybe 100000 km or more. And the worst part about this is that its a 2 seater, very inconvenient

Infinite G35
Basicly everything the the 350z is but better. Have back seats so thats a big plus
However the price of the car is just as steep or even more expensive. And i would also be looking at an 2004. However I found a 04 for 23000 so that's pretty decent with 70kms on its. not to bad i guess

Last car Mazda RX8
this one is my top choice i guess so far. Technically a 4 door car, room in the back, manual, nice 240 hsp from that rotory engine little weak on the torque but thats no biggie. best of all its the cheapest, easily able to find for 15000 for an 04 or 05 18 for 06
the down side is the engine, Ive never driven a rotory, and its not great on gas by any means, even worse then the 3.5L in the infinite or the Z'd i'm pretty sure. plus the engine scares me cuz one only mazda can fix it, two, its probably not cheap for parts to fix, and three heard there can be stupid trouble with it

So my budget was hopeing to be just a bit below 30000 so what do you guys think? is there another car you would add to this list? in terms of how well the c300 handles and drives how would it fair with these contenders??

Until we finally mandate nothing but super low sulpher diesel fuel, we will always have a very limited choice for diesel engines. I look forward to seeing how the more stringent fuel economy mandates in the States will effect this.

I have a C300 and my brother has a 350Z...VERY different cars. The 350Z is a sports car. It's a blast to drive but it's not comfortable at all and the suspension is jarringly stiff..you'll def feel the road, almost too much. The C300 is a sporty luxury car. It's much easier to drive than the 350Z, but not quite as fun either. The Infiniti G35/37 is similar to the 350Z, but geared more for comfort..this could be a good compromise. I don't have much experience with the RX8 so I can't comment on that.
