Question GPS aerial removal

Hi, Anyone know how to remove the GPS aerial for painting body colour? Alternatively, I've been told the rubber seal can be removed so the roof can be masked up and the aerial painted in situ.

Thanks

"in situ"...in the medical field are we?? Do an advanced search on the W204 and you should find a few threads regarding the antenna.

GPS antenna removal

Yeah right. In situ is a perfectly common phrase where I come from....and it isn't med school.

Anyone have any useful help on this question please and yes I've used the search facility?

Thanks.

Quick search found this.

it can be reached from rear doom light hole. After removing doom light antenna bottom can be seen from hole and one tox screw hold the antenna . 3 wires going to antenna. AM, FM and WB can be turned off from engineering menu, not Sat.

Also I remember reading in anouther thread that painting interferes with the reception.

Painting GPS antenna

Thanks RonJnr,

Very useful feedback. Not sure if painting does affect the reception as most Mercedes models and BMWs etc have painted antennas. I'll have a look at the access this weekend.
