I just got the build date for our C300 4-Matic that we are picking up in Stutgart in May. Build date 10 April. Paladium Silver, Black Leather, Premium 2, Multi-Media, Pano-roof..............wish I could get the 18in AMG option with 4-Matic, but for some reason that option is not available.

when did you order the vehicle?

i ordered mine on the first week of January. however, the dealership stated that due to the economy, the plant was shutdown until January 19th. consequently, my build date came out to be March 25th. with the delivery date being third week of May.

 

thought that you got a date with a woman... because of the car... lol

I ordered it the second week of Jan, but since we are picking it up at the plant in Germany, I guess they don't need to build it so soon. Interesting info from the dealer, he shows mine with build date of April 10 in Germany but there were 3 ahead of mine on his list that were being built in South Africa.

 

It is actually more like I got the car because of the woman....this one is for my wife. For me, I would drop the 4-Matic in favor of the C350 with the 18in AMG's. I need those AMG's....

Could not agree more. That is why I got the 350 over the 4 Matic. I only wish I got the 18s.

How much can you negotiate with the dealer on the car price when you special order? Do you basically pay full price, which is what I assume.

I have the 18" AMG wheels for my C300, it's the best option, really completes the sport package.

 

You can still get deals for special orders. That's what I did. Started out with the pre-negotiated Costco pricing (which they negotiated price on car, package, options individually already), then worked my way down from that.

 

I ordered mine for European Delivery. European Delivery gets you a 7% discount and no delivery charge (another $875 on C300). From there, I negotiated the value of my trade and saved a few thousand more.

 

Well, today is the big day! My new Merc will be picked up this afternoon. Ordered in mid-December and it is now ready to roll of the lot with me, 2 1/2 months of waiting is over, surprisingly the wait was pretty painless, but the past few days I have been like a kid a Christmas.

I have been lurking around the forums since the time I ordered and the advice and info here is great, can't wait to contribute more now that I am oficially an OWNER

European version resale value is LOWER than N. Amer version. I know that as a fact. But, it's just a choice. Do whatever you like. Congratulations.

The car is a North American car, I just pick it up at the factory in Stutgart, use it for two weeks vacation and them MB ships it to my local dealer.

Shipping to your local dealer of choice is included in the discounted price as in 15 days of insurance and temporary plates for use in Europe.
