I have Brabus door pins now. Fronts are twist on and rears are pressure caps. The CF ones on my old set only worked for front twist ons.

Caps fit over the pins. Held firmly by the pressure over the plastic.

That's what the instructions said, but I did it slightly different. I fit it over the original caps. I figured as soon as I pull off the cap, it'd be useless as you break the ball/socket design so tested it out by cutting off the nipple tip and pushed the cap over the existing plastic pin cap. I could always just pull off the original plastic pin cap if I didn't like how is sat, but couldn't go back the other way if I was to pull off the cap, breaking the ball-socket. Worked out well, so I kept it that way.

A little off topic, but how does your car paint look like it just came out of the dealership??
Looks awesome!

I do my own detailing. Paint is better than when it came off the dealership. Did a full decontamination cycle and polish to get the paint perfect. There's a post somewhere I made under my non-sponsor account AZN_C300 where I outlined my full yearly detailing process and schedule.

I tried different lighting options on the camera to give you the best sense. The halos are perfect white. Running 8000K HID heads and fogs, showing up bluer on camera than they really are though.
I don't think it looks bad at all. I wonder how its brightness compares to LED daytime running lights. The fogs provide more functionality in my view but seem to be more susceptible to cracks.

Did you sell these or replace theme with DRL?

I sold them. The concern was how fragile the actual halos were to be sitting exposed like that. One rock and it's over. There are a lot more halo options out there now than there were back then so these would be fairly simple to source back.

On white, I personally think blacked out front grille looks amazing. I loved my 2-tone contrasting black grille and maintaining two grilles was fun to change out back and forth for different look.

Wow I love the grill! I have a black C300 sport, and I am currently getting the whole grill gloss black except for the Mercedes emblem kept in chrome. Do you guys think it would look good on a black car?

Thanks

Your car looks great.

A little off topic question about changing out the grilles, Ive swapped mine out to paint the OEM and then to replace with my single fin AMG style now. Im wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with the snap tabs from bumper cover to grille wearing out or getting loose after too many changes?

They do wear slightly, but after changing so many times over the years, it just made for changing that much easier. It never reached the point where it loosened to the point where the grille was loose though.

I've seen it. Depends on your personal taste. If I recall correctly, there are a few examples if you go through the picture thread of black w204s sporting murdered out look with the exception of the front star.

Apparently the dealership that I was going to get my grill painted at said "they cannot do it..." What's new lol. Anyways, AZN Optics, is your grill painted or vinyl? Since they did not want to paint it I am thinking about doing the sane grill style except leaving the star emblem chrome.

Thanks.

Just take it to any body shop to get it done, not the dealership (who would have just taken it to a body shop and charged you an extra Mercedes tax to do it).

I had everything originally painted, but over time, had a few rock chips on the matte black slat parts so I had my vinyl guy make me matte black vinyl sheets (similar to what I did with the CF slats) for the slats which he applied. More durable to rock chips and easier to simply replace in the even they need replacing.

You can contact John at JSDesignFactory.com as can sell you the vinyl overlay sheets for the grille slats.
