Navigation could use an update?

Anyone else here besides me think that the navigation is just to plain? I mean live traffic guides announcement so you can take alternative routes or Weather with temperatures is cool. Maybe i'm just thinking ahead.

ya compared to the tom toms, and garmins out there for $100 something, our navs just seem so dated.

Ive said from day one compared to the Lexus IS nav, ours seems very basic.

I'd pay to further upgrade the navi to include the basic MSN-type services that come with a Garmin nuvi - the one in my wifes car makes my navi look foolish.

Pretty much the only thing that I regret about not getting the IS350 is the NAV functionality.

We have live traffic updates (TMC) with auto re-routing in Europe.

Totally agree that comand system lacks features that at this point in the game are basic functions in other nav systems. With that said, why did MB USA further decide to criple the system by omitting traffic updates from US w204's?!??!?!? Is there any way to enable this feature (I would pay for this)?

Looks like, always pre facelift Comand system have less support from Mercedes. To bad for overall sales.People read and Know for next buy.

Unrtunatelly ΒΜW's i drive is still andvance, offering always more total info about car,and Audi's MM looks better in design and friendly handle.

I'd have to disagree on the Audi MM. I heard that it's very annoying to navigate around the map, but that's not first hand.

I agree with the need for an update to the system. You'd think they should be able to activate the missing features. Given the chance, I'd pay for it.

already taken care of (well suppose to be). the last time i went in to get some warranty issues resolved the SA told me that there is a free serious satelite radio update for nav traffic, but since i didn't extend my activation for my sirius service i declined it.

OMG this is really good news! Has anyone here (in the US of course) received this alleged update?

I would too...

BTW, is it me, or is there no way to determine when you'll be arriving at your destination? My Garmin tells me both how long it will take and estimates the arrival time.

Does the W204 Nav give you lane information?

I think you can get distance/time to destination info by push the control wheel left..
Yes, w204 navi will give you lane info...it will display what lanes you can take on next maneuver..

I would get sat just for traffic. I will call my dealer to see if they know about this alleged traffic enabling sat update.

I believe until last year the S class was the only model with a real time traffic.

under the "navi" menu on the top left you can click on the roatary knob, then scroll down to something like display and you can change it from "display current street name" which i think is default, to "display time to arrival"
