COMAND retrofit - Help
I just got my COMAND from Europe and started to retrofit it. I cant get the 7" screen to open, it appears to be dead, but I'm sure it is a wiring problem.
I switch my Audio 20 head unit with the COMAND, everything works fine, I got audio and voice control without a problem, just plug and play. I havent played around with the Navi since it is a European unit.
The problem came when installing the monitor. It has not power although I plugged all the cables in the back. I dont have the switch on my vent so I left the that cable unplugged, but I dont think that is the problem since the unit should open when turned on or when I press the button on the cover.
The small 5" screen that I replaced had 3 plugs for cables: one is the data and two were power, it need both power cables attached in order to turn on. The new screen only has 2 plugs: the data and one power, so there is no place to plug the second power cable that the small screen used.
BTW, for those interested, I tried the COMAND with the small screen and it shows a picture, but it is only 1/4 of the sceen, so everything is cut in half, and it looks really bad.
