Coil-overs

Anyone done a DIY installation??

Wondering if it's even possible for me to consider doing this on my own...

Any thoughts/expertise is much appreciated.

well if you paid for coilovers(btw how much did you pay for them) I would HIGHLY suggest getting them professionally installed because you are playing with your suspension there and if you install wrong you could end up paying thousands of dollars to repair your suspension. BTW warranty will not cover your suspension if it is damaged if you install those coilovers.

Haven't purchased any yet I'm just toying with the idea...

Might hold off now that I know that warranty bit, as the roads in Chicago are absolutely terrible and suspension damage is not that unlikely..

Still would love to sport it up a little bit - what a quandary....

humm... unless you really know what you are doing and you have done this type of install before, i would suggest getting a pro to do it. i just ordered some new lowering springs and they only charged me 120 for install. i figure for coilovers it might just be another hour or two of labor.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I am having mine installed professionally. I am not sure what the impact would be on the warranty of surrounding parts. I can see how installing them yourself may impact the warranty. Would it be any different if you had your suspension parts changed professionally due to wear and tear? I doubt coilovers like H&Rs are any harsher on the car than the OE units.
