Swap halogen lights for xenon?

Is it possible to swap out the halogen lights for the xenons? I know it would involve changing out the entire headlight assemblies, but what other problems would need to be overcome? Could I just order new Mercedes xenon head light assemblies and plug-and-play? Any idea of the cost?

The light assemblies will be interchangeable but the levelling feature won't work because the level sensors on the suspension aren't there. "Xenon present" must also be enabled.

When I installed Bi-Xenons in my '01 C320, dealer retail for the assemblies was $1200 EACH. Might be a touch more now.

Soooo, who pays retail?

haha ok costs include... dealership about 1$200-$1300 per light, hmm about maybe 4 or 5 hours of labor seeing as how they have to change the whole assembly( around another $500) and you don't get all the features such as the leveling that it would normally come with. In other words it would have been WAY more cost effective to get the P2 package instead. Sorry I considered this myself and I got hit with this news. your other alternative is to get some aftermarket lights and they could possibly turn out good... just make sure you do ALOT of research before selecting an aftermarket light set. And make sure you buy the ballasts and all the other things that need to come in changing the lights.

Sounds like I'll just be happy living in the halogen world after all... Wasn't sure what all was included and for a few grand, I'd rather spend it on something else. Thank God asking is free! Thanks for your time!

I've changed out the halogens to Philips HID a couple of months ago, cost me S$500, which is about USD350 thereabout. It was a quick 1 hour job done by the auto accessories job. No programming required and no OBC error as well. My car doesn't come with auto levelling but has manual levelling adjustment. The levelling adjustment still works well after the change. The aftermarket HID works very well and is much brighter than the stock halogens.
Hope above info is of help.

Can anyone point to a link for this light upgrade? I didn't get the bi-xenons on our C300, but would like to upgrade the lights a bit.
