The post actually said that it was a mock up, it wasn't fully installed, but rather, he just put the lights along the eyelid area to see what it would look like. Cost-wise, those LED light strings actually aren't that expensive, it's just figuring out how to wire it up would be the difficult part.

I've been playing around with the front in Photoshop trying to get some LEDs in there somewhere. I like the idea of using the fog light area like on the new E Class, but not sure I'd actually want to replace the fogs.

It's fun and fustrating at the same time...

Its not a bad idea since other car companies are using the LED look too; Commonly Audi but also Porsche. The new E class is also evidence of this possible upcoming trend.

They make Led stripe that are soft, so you could actually bend one to fit into bulb whole, and then spend lots of time trying to align it, and then wiring it... that would be my guess

Much nicer than the LED lights on the new E-class.
I would definitely consider these if they went into production.

I would burn down the plant if they planned a production Looks aweful. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess!

I LOVE the LED look in the headlights...ala Audi R8. Doesn't have to be individual LED lights...even if there was a way to make the eyelid bulb significantly brighter for use during the day/early evening I'd be all over that. Eyelids on + fog lights on = looks bad ***

CCFL fluorescent strip. Unmount headlamps, insert strip et voila... (like the Saabs)

Carlsson makes DTRL with LED and Fog, they have a video clip on how to install it. Looks like a lot of work since you need to be able to reach under the car. Otherwise i would do it

Hold on, that is not the same AMG front bumper we get here in the states. It looks like a luxury but somewhat different.

Why would I want my Mercedes to look like an Audi?
