Also, and more importantly, are there any settings to avoid fiddling with in order to avoid problems?

The setting to avoid at all cost is the Update Menu. Unless you know what you are doing or the have the update CDs or DVDs.
|
other than turning the max volume up from i think 75 to 80 i havn't done anything else... :\
wish there was more to be done... i have a thread asking about the equalizer but no responses on that one yet i guess. |
I used mine to adapt the Euro COMAND unit to my US car:
Changed DVD regin to 1 Got rid of a wired telephone that it originally had Change the way the radio statinos appear on the display Installed backup camera. |
How do you do that
(the max volume thing) |
Is there a listing of the available engineering menu items?
Are they different in the Comand unit and in the "speedometer" display? |

I just updated the Navigation with the latest DVDs, but I think I missed a step as it is not retaining the original base location? i.e. once I power down and power back-up, it does not retain the location?

Its at the back of the COMAND unit. You have to take it out to get access to it. See the Rear view Camera threads.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-retrofit.html It is the Green Connector in the back of the Units - Aux Video |
