the carlsson authentic or carlsson replica actually does have aerodynamic effects. The front will create a little more down force and the rear like the C63 diffuser which stablize the airflow out from under the car.

you can even make a diy splitter under the front bumper to create down force as well.

as far as how each of these front lips performance on how much they create we can only be certain that the Carlsson versions were tunnel tested. for others like the euroteck and absdynamics and the one sonicms's coming out with they're more designed with cosmetics in mind.
