Rim Question

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to get some new rims, and I was just wondering what you thought of this setup:

Rims Size: 19 X 8.0"
Hub bore: 57.1
Bolt Pattern: 5 X 112
Offset: 42 mm front & rear
Weight: 27 lbs each

They are Audi R8 rims I found locally. Would these look good on the W204? Also, is the offset and sizing okay or will there be fitment issues?

P.s. If these would fit, what would be the ideal tire size for these?

Thanks!

That's Got_Thang's car. You can try PMing him to see if he had any fitment issues.

Wow, those do look nice!!

I wasn't sure just looking at your bare wheels or at the R8. But actually seeing them on a W204, they look awesome. Those are OE R8 wheels then? $$$$ Hmmmm....

Not worried about giving up your staggered setup or do you not currently have one?

^ Yeah the pics on the car made it look even better. Is there a downside to not using a staggered setup?

p.s. Their replica's, but they look great.

FYI I heard the MB centercaps do NOT fit these wheels and that's why he's still sporting the audi centers.

Yeah, I think it might be because the MB wheel caps are too large? Is there anywhere that makes smaller ones?

Also, what is the correct offset I need for 19" rims? 35mm or 45mm?

From what I heard, u will need at least 40mm, which means 45mm in your case. Not too sure about 4matic though, but I assume it's the same as the 2wd model.

*edited* nevermind, I believe you shouldn't run staggered tires on a non-staggered wheels. just go 225/35/19 all around.

Yes it does. Many aftermarket rim shops can get them for you, or it's available on eBay.

I found this exact rim from one of the local shop and they even offer this same rim in gunmetal finish (quite nice!).

They said the bolts pattern and offset (ET 45) are good except for the bore size. The MB's bore size is bigger (66.56 for MB vs. 57.1 for Audi) and if I still want to install this rim, i will have to machine the rims and make the opening bigger to fit the MB.

Can someone validate if this is truth or not?
