tire pressure message

I just got a new c350 and the message "correct tire pressure" keeps coming out. I took it to the dealer and they put some air in the tires. After a while the message came back and is doing the same thing. I just hit the "ok" button and forget about it.
For those that are been driving their cars longer, does that message is still coming back? Is there a solution or is something that I have to live with it?

Shouldn't be occurring that often. It happens to me once in a while, maybe couple times a month, in the winter when our temp drops below zero. It usually goes away after the tires warm up from driving.

If it gets really low, you center instrument cluster will turn red and a warning message will appear and you'll also hear some warning beeps. Freaked me out the first time it happened.

Maybe take it back to the dealer (or where you got the wheels) and have them bubble test the wheels for you. Maybe it's just a bad seal?

Good luck!

Happened to me a week or two ago. Just the once. I checked the tires and all were over-inflated. Hmm. So, I just ignored it and it's gone away.

But I'm now carrying my portable tire pump, and plan on checking pressure when the tires are cold to see if they really are over-inflated. My tire wear pattern is flat across the tires, so I'm not too worried.

Just thinking that this is a fluke message?

There have been a few threads about this issue. The system should allow certain air pressure drop from the set reference point, except not below a fixed lower threshold. It appears that the lower threshold was set a bit high at least on early cars. I've seen owners reporting that dealers have then programmed the lower, fixed threshold a bit lower with SDS. It would be an issue specifically at cold winter mornings.

Do it right. Check your air pressures with the tires cold, then reset the TPMS to use the current pressures as the set point (in the Settings menu).

I'm using the stock wheels for my winter set and recently I got the "Correct Tire Pressure" message, but only when I start my car and when I park it. The message disappears when I put it in drive.
I'll air more air to my tires tonight and I'll keep an eye on it.

My summer set doesn't have the TPMS on them, so the yellow TPMS warning light goes on all the time when I have my summer set on. There's also a "Tire Pressure Monitor System not Detected" message that appears on the screen occasionally when driving.

If it keeps on coming back, one or more of your tires have incorrect pressure. It happened to me recently and I tried to get rid of the message but it keep coming back. As it turns out, the dealer lost one of my tire valve cap and I put another one on but a little rubber piece inside the valve cap was mis-align and acutally letting the air out of my tire. I was at 25 on my rear when it should have been 32. I found that out when I measured all my tires. So, it it keeps on coming back, it bad. I would check all tire pressures first before going to dealership since they may just fill in air for you and not really check it. Sounds like maybe a slow leak somewhere.

I just received this message yesterday and today after driving to work. I only get the message when turning the car off after driving for 30+ minutes. You would think I would get the message when the tires were cold and would register low pressure (not high). I'll check pressure when I get home. Would be nice if they told you what tire (my GMC Yukon even does that).

If you get the message it's simple as that. Check tire pressure it is reading one to be either too low of pressure, or out of a specified range from the other. This happened to me. Turned out I had a slow leak in a tire due to a puncture.

Check all tires if one is out say 5 psi that is the one that is triggering the message.

I have over 53,000 miles and everytime I received a message, it was something wrong with a tire, slow leak etc..so have them check each tire.

Thumbs up

need help i have new rims on my c300 2009 but the rims doesn't have the TPMS on them, so the yellow TPMS warning light goes on all the time. There's also a "Tire Pressure Monitor System not Detected" message that appears on the screen occasionally when driving, but I realized that the light when off tonight I reset the tpms on the dash of my car to see if the light will turn back on but didn't do anything but I still have the new rims on but I want to make sure if a change the new rims to ths stock one the tire pressure will work fine

thanks

I was experiencing pressure loss due to a bent rim, so that was helpful for me. Because putting on winter tires are mandatory where I live, tires go on and off my rims twice a year. Turned out one of their pry bars bent the inside sidewall of the rim and I was having a slow leak.

I personally never experienced the message come up for no reason... As Star and Laurel suggested, check your tire pressure on all 4 wheels.
