Just reading through this thread, let's make sure everyone understands the LEDs are NOT fog lights!

I do agree with what you say. But to be honest, in my opinion, the LEDs are pretty much as bright as the OEM fogs. Tried and tested, but then again, the OEM fogs have an edge over the LEDs because of the angle and range of focus.

The LED are used for the purpose of being seen, unlike the fogs that actually project light out in front for eluminate the road. In my opinion that LED lights, don't project nearly as much light maybe a 10th of what the fogs do. I would like to see a combination of the two, one a running lights and the fogs for driving. But the LED do look good.

Exactly right on the differences in function! Just being bright does not make a lamp optimal for fog. Although, I am becoming more convinced that the LEDs benefit from novelty, not better design. The more I look at them, other than just being new and different, the less attractive they seem versus a true fog lamp. But, I also much prefer the W211 to the new W212 E Class, so apparently I like classic design.
