wiper blades

Has anyone replaced their wiper blades with anything but a dealer purchased part?

The blade looks like a Bosch ICON 24", but the Bosch ICON application guide does not cross reference to the 2008/09 W204.

I belelive the socket of the wiper blade is little different from the one you purchase from dealer which make all third party wiper blades unfit to W204

That is a really good question. I am thinking of changing mine also and wondering if one has to buy the blade from the dealership.

BTW, anyone knows of a way to get rid of the "marks" that the blade leave behind on your window after a while?

I believe that the OEM part number is a Bosch number 3 397 009 053, but I have been unable to find it at any auto parts store. It does appear that Anco and Rain-X list replacement wipers that look very similar. Please post if you've been able to find it.

I bought them at the dealer, $16 each. Not too bad.

Not nearly as expensive as I would have guessed. Are they a silicone blend material?

Not bad at all, figured they'd be $30 each.

The dealer offered to change my wipers for $70. That is why I was looking for another source. I didn't price them at the parts department. I guess that is what I will have to do next. I just find it dissappointing that Bosch doesn't seem to sell them elsewhere.

Until there are a few more W204s on the road, it is likely too expensive for Bosch to widely distribute them for the few do it yourself MB owners looking at parts stores.

C300 Sport,
