Painting Side Markers

I am about to spray paint my side markers...sand them down...paint them etc. Easy job. Problem is what is the best place to get a can of spray to match our car? My code is 755. I have found a couple websites that you can get the color in spray form. Has anyone bought anything like this before? Online? I do not want night shades or anything I am doing color match to my paint (STEEL GREY METALLIC)

Here is an example of what I have found.

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/cho...=72&search.y=7

http://www.expresspaint.com/ (found this website but the color code is naming a different color..possibly the euro name for Steel grey)

Click on that..should take you to what I searched for and provides codes. They had the codes already in their database ready to make the can for you.

Just wondering if anyone has had success DIY like this?

Take a look.

Thanks!

I used express paint. Take a look in my sig

Remember to color match an extra piece of plastic or if that is to much work go with LIGHT coats 3-4. Don't try to get absolute coverage on your first spray. Also take your time and mask everything off, sand, clean.

Nice. I am leaning towards using the 1st site because they have the color exactly named the same as well..... is tenorite grey 755 the euro name for STEEL GREY METALLIC? or possible same color just a old color name for benz? Both codes are 755

Why not order a set of clears from E-bay and keep the orange for when you sell/trade the car?

Ugh did that on my c230k Did not like it. Painted flush is sexy. especially when color matched. Many in the c63 forum have done it and its definitely nice looking. But to each their own..I know I wont like the ebay clears..been there done that.

Thanks though

Also if you trade in your car...mercedes could care less about the orange reflector light. (well my rep/management doesnt care) some dealers may. Because most of those cars go to auction..they do not sit on the lot. I only know this because my car immediately when to auction after I traded it in for my 08.

Question - Do you take the bulb out? What I mean is - did you take it out so it's not shining behind the painted light? I just installed painted side marker lights. Bought from evosport , it matches my vehicle.

im going to black out my side markers to match my desert silver/black accented car.
if your planning on giving the side markers the smoked tailight look, you completely remove the side marker, than clean it thoroughly with soap and water (not windex), than spray it lightly waiting 5 min intervals in between each coat, until you get your desired color.

the spray that im using was recommended to me, here's the link.

that could get a little tricky, with putting the tint on such a small space, wait a day or two, and i'll upload the pic using the tint spray. it looks amazing
