Turbo!?

When can we expect to find a turbo or super charger for sell for our cars?

Is the problem that it is too new so they are still developing or something else entirely?

Its already available and its better - it is called the C63.

Strapping boost onto an engine that is not designed for it is, frankly, asking for trouble and expense. Spend the money (or less) on factory engineering.

^ +1 Agreed.

To do so, you will end up spending the same amount of money as if you buying a C63 at start.

Plus, v6 will never surpass a v8 in terms of performance potential.

There are plenty reasonably priced pre-owned 08 C63s out there. And matter of fact, I know someone who just got one in your area for under $52K

I believe Kleemann will have a Kompressor kit for our cars soon.

Per my speculation - the Kleemann kit might bright your C350 from 268hp to 380hp with the price tag of 10K without installation.

For the w203, they have it for $8K to 9K (without installation)

Kleemann M112 SuperCharger System Mercedes C Class V6 W203 00-07

The KLEEMANN Kompressor system for the V6 (M112) engine is the very essence of the KLEEMANN slogan "Comfort Power." High power output combined with a low boost pressure of just 0.5 bar makes the system safe and provides long-term durability for the engine.

The KLEEMANN Kompressor System is an Eaton type supercharger with an integrated air-to-water intercooler and is the only known system to combine the intake manifold, kompressor and intercooler into one integral unit. The intercooler is such a superior design that it holds its own patent.

The system design was chosen because of its ability to develop boost at very low engine revs, and to maintain that boost consistently throughout the rev range until maximum engine revs is reached. As a result the engine has a characteristic smooth power band with no peaks or valleys - just immediate power on demand without any hesitation.

Fits: C240, C280, C320, and C350.

C240 2.6 V6 shows gains of 90 HP and 66 lbs/ft Torque
C320 3.2 V6 shows gains of 113 HP and 97 lbs/ft Torque

I agree the C63 is the obvious choice, but I wanted to be aware of all options.

Thanks for the info guys.

The C300 has a pretty high compression ratio. I'm interested to see how that will be addressed.

Kleeman tuned V6 (M272) - from their website

280-K1: A Kompressor system and a custom made ECU upgrade. Up to 290 HP and 360 Nm (267 lb-ft) of torque.

280-K2: K1 + a set of stainless steel tubular exhaust headers and downpipes. Up to 305 HP and 380 Nm (282 lb-ft) of torque.

Yes, but do they need to lower the compression with taller head gaskets or is the boost really low?
