My C220 CDi is tuned, mapped with the factory Delphi DCM3.2 PCM they have in them. To give you an idea it makes just a tad more power (maybe 5hp more) than a 2002 320i E46 BMW Coupe on our dyno, and they are rated at 185hp

You push any harder than that and they will get a little smoky. Those that use the Brabus Power Xtra such as the original poster will notice that the cars white smoke a fair bit after hard running with this unit in place. It doesnt seem to hurt anything, but a sudden take off from the lights or holding the throttle flat out for any length of time will result in white smoke (unburnt diesel)

I think he means Nm. I have a standard c220d (4 days old) and its 400Nm. I cant see how you would get an extrax 100Nm from putting on an exhaust. He must have done other stuff to it!! Like to know though if he does have 500 Nm. That would through you back in the chair.

Cheers

I'm going to have ours remapped too. The sports filter (panel) from K&N will arrive today We have a service contract up to 80.000km and we do mostly short trips so chances are that the particle filter will clog up before the end of the contract...

@gaiex: Those are some nice numbers but the highest I've seen for 530d is 290bhp. Are those figures not too much over the top? I mean that's a huge increase over other tuners... Is it possible to send in the ECU from Belgium to have it mapped like that? Portugal is a little far lol. Friend of mine is atm revising his 30d engine (270.000km) and wants to have it remapped.

@Maxy: He had it remapped...

The 2 bmw I mentioned have diesel particuls filter, and nether one make a bit of smoke, even the exhaust its clean!!!!

The 530d power is impressive

The power box only revise fuel injection, not turbo, so ---> smoke and harder on the exhaust headers because of the higher combustion temperatures.

Don't put the KN filter, its the worst thing you can do to your engine!!!
I also was a appologist of the KN filters but it can be hard for the engine and turbo and even MAF, because it canot filtrate the particules anygood.
My advice, and its what I'm doing, 1 paper filter when doing service, and another one when half the km to the service again, that means, 2 paper filters instead of 2, its the way to go.

PS: the seat 1.9tdi is hard modified and makes alot of smoke, but also alot of power
here is another video, this time against an M3

Yes I know the problem with oiled filters and the MAF. However, when properly oiled, it will not cause problems with the MAF. I had one on the Audi TT and I was happy with it, I have heard about problems with the MAF when over-oiled.

I have sent you a PM regarding the 530d. If you can put me in contact I hope to send in the ECU or maybe even come over for a trip to Portugal during the summer!

The easy and cheapest part to replace is the MAF... I also had KN in the last 10 years, but now after start reading ans see the real damages I taked them out of the cars.
There is also here in MBWorld some threads about this subject, the part most afected is the turbo, the K&N filters allow more dirt to pass through and that damage the turbo.

Here is the website of MBpower: http://www.mb-powered.com/
He also do some work over states
