Fog light bulb replacement

Have an 08 Sport C300. I was told the fog light bulb is an H11. Anyone know if you can just replace the bulb or do you need to have a special resistor to keep from getting error messages?
Thanks

Are they direct replacements? If I just put new bulbs in will I get an error message on my dash?

If you have the P2 package, you should have Bi Xenons which carries a different part number.

This information is in your owner's manual. I'd double check that part number for the halogen too. Seems that the luxury uses a different one than the sports model. .....and why would they do that?

Clearly just to screw with anyone who wants to do the work themselves. The manual in my car, as well as all of the documentation at your standard automotive stores says the bulbs for my 2008 C300 4Matic Sport are H11's. Only after removing the parts needed to access the bulb did I discover that they are indeed H7's... I'm just thankful that I had access to another car to run back out to the store and pick up the correct bulbs without having to put it all back together again.

oooh maybe I've got a 2008 C300 4Matic Luxury Sport!!!
