Why not try to access an engine from German wreckers. Surely they have some wrecked 204 C Class available that they can ship to you.

I think you can probably try to send your car oversea to other countries to have a new engine dumped in with modification. My friend's boy friend actually shipped his Porsche 996 cab from Hong Kong to France or somewhere to convert the body to 997...

Check out www.car-part.com - I just saw several complete engines for C300 RWD for $6-8K. Also ebay.de and german recyclers like previously mentioned.

You know if you were certain that nothing else was damaged, the sensible thing to do would be to get it fixed.
But, how can you know for certain that the transmission, air conditioning, etc. aren't damaged?
This could just turn into a money pit.

Whiteongrey, thanks for your advices. I have no other choice rather than fix it at minimum cost and sell it. I have tried to search replacement engine in webs and couldn't find it. Will appreciate if you can provide the address for C350 engine.
JimPap, my car is now in MB workshop. They have checked it and the engine block is the only thing has to be repaired. You have to believe that no water came into the cabin indeed. It was not a big flood but a bad luck and now I get second bad luck to have to face a shark dealer.

You still haven't stated whether your insurance carrier has refused a claim. Here in Washington State this sort of loss is covered under Comprehensive.

I have same problem, 3 days ago when it was very rainy in all euroasia, including Kazakhstan 
I drove into water too fast.
so now I need new engine
Thanks to this forum. Now I know tha exact price is 6500USD for engine 300RWD in USA + shipping to kazakhstan and customs.
my dealer said it will cost 25000usd only engine + installation
So my question, does any bodyknows, is it possible to install 3,5L engine to my C280?
what will I need to do additionally, new computer? or just to change the programm?
One more question, who knows is there any difference if I input american 300c engine insted of european c280 engine, i know there is almost no difference, but can be a little difference there

The 3.5 would probably be suitable if you have the standard trans. If you have auto trans I'd say not compatible. A lot safer to stick to 3.0.
Personally, I would locate a used engine from Europe C280 as it would be a direct swap, and there are sure to be many around in EU at least. Last resort would be a US engine.
Try calling the MB Doktor in Germany ( I found him on ebay) +49 173-2587413 - looks like he has lots of MB parts and will know where to get you a C28 motor.
