My HORN is not so good.....
Hey everyone, So I am getting off the highway the other day. Well I get cut off and in reaction, I lay on the horn for like 10 seconds. Well, I think I burned it out or something. It is this ridiculous high pitched horn now....wtf?? I guess I will take it in and see what the MB tech says. I have never had a problem with a horn on any of my cars. I think that the C300 Horn is kinda whimpy anyways. If I honk now I think I will just get laughed at. ![Confused](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)

I have always liked the horn on the C and have never heard of a horn burning out...maybe it's the new anti road rage feature.
Maybe you can get one of the old time "Aaoowga" horns?

agreed, the original noise sounds too high pitched already. I also HATE the fact that you cant just lightly tap it to make a little honking noise. its either off, or fully on. that really sucks. I mean sometimes you gotta just alert the person in front of you with a friendly tap of the horn, i dont want to make it seem like im more pissed than i am.

I saw an episode of Top Gear which featured a vintage 600S Pullman.
The horn was very impressive, loud and classy sounding -- I would love to have that on my W204.
I don't know if that horn is electric or air-powered, though.
Griots garage sells an Italian air horn kit (dual hi and low tone), which I have purchased before. It involves some rewiring and it needs a bit of space for the compressor module and the trumpet horns, bumper removal is neccessary. I believe it costed around $100.

The 204 has two horns, the left one is a high tone 510Hz and the right is a low tone 420Hz horn.
My guess is that your right horn has failed making the high tone horn the only one remaining.

I ride with a guy that has an airhorn on his Harley Softtail. He has a 1/2 gallon air tank and a small electric pump. I does't sound off very long but plenty of time to get clueless drivers attention.
