Cracked Fog light and road trip tomorrow!!

Hello all, here is my issue. I washed my car today before a 700 mile road trip. I noticd my passenger side fog light has a circular crack in it...looks like one impact point started it.

I don't have time to get it fixed...what should I do for the trip...place tape on the crack for support?

Thanks for you time fellas

just leave it along. these fog lights are known to crack.
replace it after you come back from road trip.

Put Lamin-X on the new one to protect it.

Exact same thing happened to me. Went on a road trip and cracked my passenger fog light. I had to pay ~$100 to get it replaced.

Araldite ( 2 pack epoxy resin) up the crack which will seal the internals & prevent weather damage. Will last the life of the car.

I have the 2008 C 350 sport. Irridium Silver Metalic,Multimedia Package,iPod,18" AMG wheels
Definetly put the lamin-x film on it to protect it from cracks, mine still looks good after a year installed.

$100 replaced the lense only or the whole light? my dealer wants $300 to replace just one light (whole assy). Can this be a do it yourself thing?
how difficult is it? Thanks.

Sport or Lux? If sport it is fairly easy and the price is for the whole assembly, lens and reflector are one unit. I gave instructions in a different thread on how to replace the sports fogs, a search should find it. I can't help with a Lux I don't have one and my brother won't let me mess with his.

+1 again Ron. Sport is an easy fix, takes a little time.
