Removing Chrome Door Trim
I was wondering if it were possible for me to remove the chrome door trim paint it and re install MYSELF!
i was thinking about vinyl but that would be very very time consuming to cut out strips the same width and then placing it on so there is perfect coverage of all chrome.
i don't want to damage the car so i'm hoping there is a simple way... im lookin at you VIC!

so a few flat heads wrapped in cloth should be fine??...
then just pry it up at distant intervals so the trim doesn't bend... cool
how about the side view mirror?

I would wrap it in vinyl, when slapping paint on there´s no turning back, and flat black vinyl is way more durable.
Its easy to remove the entire mirror unit, remove the inside mirror trim as well as the panel under it in the door panel, disconnect the connectors and remove the three bolts holding the mirror unit.

TB5: About finishing the belt trim, see my post below yours at "Should I paint my grille". The same would apply to the trim pieces, and you have the choice of matte, semi matte, or glossy.
