Test Drive

I went to do some test drives: (and remember it is all about feelings)

Audi A5:
BMW 335 coupe
Mercedes c300
Mercedes c350

Interior:
Best interior: 1) A5, 2) Mercedes 3) BMW
The interior of the Audi is gorgeous. It feels classy and sexy
The Mercedes feels classy and sporty
The BMW feels sporty and classy but it does not show any special Identity like Mercedes and Audi

Best exterior: 1) Audi and Mercedes 2) BMW
I love the front of the Audi and Mercedes. While the back of the mercedes is not great and the side of the Audi is also not so great
Front of BMW is ugly, back and side are good

Automatic transmission:
1) Audi 2)c350 3) bmw 4) c300

The audi was very smooth. I was very surprised with the quality of the ride.
The automatic transmission feels way better inside the c350 rather in the c300. Maybe it needed this extra HP to be correctly balanced.
The BMW was good (very close to the c350 )

Best Performance:
Here I am confused!!! The BMW is supposed to be the best ...

The problem with the BMW is that the engine is too good and too linear. We do not feel the power. The car is fast but it does not feel fast.
I had more fun with the c350!! yep ! (I know, it surprised me!)

The audi A5 was kind of heavy.

1) c350 2) bmw 3) audi 4) c300

I know I should not put the bmw is second place. But to me, the extra power of the bmw does not justify its price. I am used to ride motorcycles that run 0-60 in less than 2.5 sec so driving a BMW or C350 feels slow.

I've driven both the 335i and the C350 (my uncle has one). And while the 335i might pull much better numbers. I gotta agree with you that the C350 feels faster and more fun overall. Nice review!

good review!

I have been disappointed with the interiors of BMWs. It's not particularily intersting, and looks dated, especially with the orange LED displays. You spend 99% behind the wheel and the interiors is very important.

The Audis are really nice all around, but it's pretty common on the streets (just like the BMW 3-series).

Merccedes tend to be more luxury oriented and geared towards older moneyed buyers, but with the newer models, starting withe the C-class Sport models, it's giving BMW and Audi some stiff competition.
