I sprayed my tips with plastidip a couple months ago (took a total of 15 minutes to pull them, spray them, and reinstall) and they still look flawless (yes I know plastidip is crap but it's a lease, i have to be able to return it to stock). You could also use stove/grill paint...
Not to hate, because the tips look awesome, just wanted to offer a less expensive alternative...

I could have gone the cheap way, but I’m very happy with the results. After all, its a MB and has a one of a kind set up.
