dashboard popping sounds
where I live, the summers are extremely hot...today it was 107 degrees. It seems the hotter it is, the more popping sounds my dashboard makes. The A-pillars, when I press on them, make the sound that I hear all the time..the plastic around the instrument cluster likes to pop and creak too. Does anyone else notice sounds coming from the dashboard especially on extremely hot days??
If I take off from a stop even moderately fast, the a-pillars let out the sound. thats the easiest way for me to get it to happen.

I have the same problem too. I have a ticking/popping sound coming from the A pillar (took it to the dealer, they stuffed foam in there, it's better but still not totally gone). I also have a popping sound coming from the instrument cluster area. I yanked out the plastic trim around the instrument cluster and eventually found out that the popping sounds was coming from the instrument cluster itself! I still haven't found a way to fix it yet as I sounds like its coming from inside the cluster. The dealer is hesitant to open up the cluster and I haven't been able to get them to replace it under warranty yet. I'm hoping I can get it fixed since it really bothers me to death! Really ruins the essence of owning a Mercedes Benz.

Mine does too. Most likely there isn't any way of fixing plastic that loosens up in the heat (certainly not stuffing foam or whatever into spaces), so.........we'll have to live with it.
It is frustrating, but on the other hand it's not like a bunch of fireworks going off, just a few cracking noises when the car flexes. It's an imperfect world, and MB is part of that imperfection.
