Thinking of replacing the interior trim ....

I have a 2008 C300 3.0 V6, black/black. The vehicle came with the brushed aluminum trim interior. I was thinking of replacing it with the faux wood interior. Anybody ever done this? Is it possible? How difficult?

TIA

And, I went searching for the aluminum to avoid that wood, but to each his own!

You both do know that "faux" is from the French, and means "fake"?

it's interior trim, i really don't care if it's real wood or not. lol. And if u have the Faux wood, isn't it basically an overlay ontop of the aluminium meaning u can just take it off if u really dont' like it? just wondering.

but yes, you're right, different strokes for different folks. I had that whole aluminium thing in my past car and when I saw the wood trim, I was excited since it's something new, and i think it looks good.

If someone wants to swap out their Black Maple Wood for my Aluminum in the Orange Couny, CA area, I might be up for it!

Would love CF trim on my C.

AZN_300 has wrapped his trim in CF cloth and it looks amazing.

Another one who can't spell the three letter word, "you"! You manage to write "aluminum", "overlay", and "wondering", but can't cough up a "yo" in front of "u"? Did the schools stop teaching those letters sometimes in the 90s? .....this must be a generational thing, but this stuff makes my eyes hurt!! OK..back to the topic now....thanks....I needed that.

I know it's wrong to write U. but maybe you should just keep it to yourself because it's pretty common on the internet. Now if I typed up my thesis paper or my marketing proposals I'm working on right now for my internship and I had a case where I type U instead of YOU, then yes you should be annoyed. But it's the internet.... I'm sorry if it makes your eyes hurt, but when I'm on the internet, I'm not typing like I care. You can maybe go to work or go to a school and then complain about misspellings, as long as it's a place that's professional. But here in the internet, I really don't care how I type what words I misspell, and if I capitalize or don't put a comma. Again I'm deeply sorry if you take everything oh so seriously on the internet. Sorry.

Uh .... yeah. And the mb-tex seats are faux leather. So what isn't fake these days?

I just think the "wood" whether real or fake looks better than the aluminum which I think looks kinda cheap. Like you said, to each his own.

sorry I didn't catch your humor. My apologies. I just read it and I thought why would he write that when he has nothing to say on the topic. But yea, I should've just taken it as you being humorous.

MA Carbon has a kit, but it's stupidly expensive. You're better off getting it custom wrapped IMO. You'd be trimless for a few weeks though.

Dude,

Can you expand on "custom wrapped"? What does it entail? Got any pics?

There are shops and people that perform wet CF wrapping service. That's what I did with my strut brace. Prices vary.

I'll trade my aluminum trim for the dark wood. I am just not sure I want to tackle the removal at this time. Michael, did you post a DIY or some pics at one time?

Just a couple pics of the interior door panel once removed. It's a decent process taking everything apart and putting back together. Not all that difficult, but not for the faint of heart also.

I prefer the bird's eye, but if you have black interior, post some pics. I won't rule it out.
