2007 - C280 Avantgarde 4M
Advise for my Canadian car in the Middle East (UAE)

I have a 2007 - C280 Avantgarde 4M that I bought in Canada and took to the Middle East with me (don't ask). It only has about 20K Km on it and needs the "B" service. Problem is that the international warranty is expired already (2years) and that they want to charge me $1000 dollars for this service!!! So I decided to get an oil change done somewhere else. When in Canada I bought an original filter for it (this model does not come to the UAE) and will try to get the oil in the UAE and take it to a mechanic or some quick oil change place to do it.

My question is: How easy is it? What kind of oil I should use, 15W40? it gets pretty hot there. How many liters will it take?

I was also advised to change the cabin air filter (it is very dusty there with sand from the desert) but the service person in Canada told me that this filter is under the hood on the passenger side and I remember pictures on the web of it being under the glovebox inside the car. Which one is it?

If you have the answers let me know, thanks.

Service B isn't covered under warranty. You'd still pay for it in Canada...

And please don't ever skip service intervals!

If you mechanic serves MB surely they know to suck oil through dip stick.
Filter - yo have it so it's fine.
Oil- you need to get oil that meets MB 229.5 spec. Viscosity of the list goes only to xW40 so I would stay clear of 50W for warranty sake.
e.g. Mobil 1 0w-40 or 5w-40
Try these:

Cabin filter
It should be under the glove box.
Try the cabin filter instruction here:
